Building collapse in Algieria claims many lives
A waterfront building in Algieria collapsed early today trapping about 30 families including 18 children. Initial estimates suggest 50 to 100 dead as residents mostly slept in their beds when the structure crumbled. Rescue efforts continued as two hours passed with five children saved.

Los Angeles Air Race Return Heads East for Rail Road Cruise

Submarine Escape Test By Entire Officer Class
Twenty six officers and bluejackets attempted the lung escape test today in New London Connecticut. OC B Momsen developed the device used by earlier testers at Key West and on the Thames. San Juan Disaster After Collision With Oil Tanker
Thirty five passengers and crew were rescued from the San Juan after it sank minutes following a collision with the S F Dodd off Pigeon Point California.
