Washington reports cloudy tonight with showers in eastern Maine and interior deterioration. Thursday outlook shows a fall feel as temperatures drop and skies remain unsettled.
The suit and attachment of Pageant funds to 5000 dollars brought by Samuel W. Emery for James H. Rutledge were withdrawn. Writs were served on Charles R. Kimball and Pageant funds in a local bank. Mayor Ladd, Emery, and Chamber of Commerce secretary held a conference. the Mayor says the matter is simply dropped and no further action is expected.

Tsekos ordered Papantonian to vacate and when refused he went to the cafe and began removing furnishings. Papantonian seized a horse whip and attacked the owner.
A Boston linen salesman Aki Ina of 104 Tyler Street and Miss Dorothy Green of Rockland high school escaped injury when a locomotive struck their auto at Camden Street crossing. Ina jumped free as the car was pushed along the tracks for about 100 feet. Green, a basketball team member, remained in her seat unhurt, saying Ina braked then tried to cross ahead of the train. Spectators watched the dramatic moment.
New York police, after twelve days of searching for three months old Lillian Mékenzie, recovered a baby’s body in the Hudson river. After comparing with Peter McKenzie and confirming the infant was deceased, authorities ruled it an abandoned child rather than Lillian, noting the body was heavier and bore blue eyes.
An early morning wreck near Conway South Carolina sent a car plunging into the W eamaw river. Mr and Mrs Sulton Culliver, their three children, and Mrs Marvin Cannor died. Mr Cannor survived the crash.
