Body of Woman Washed Ashore at Sea Point
The unidentified woman, likely 50 to 55, was found Sunday morning at Sea Point, Kittery Point, by Henry Futter. Dr. Edward E. Shapleigh said the body had been in the water about two weeks, with features obliterated by rocks. She wore torn clothing save one shoe and an elastic girdle, and a pendant with two pear shaped blue stones. Authorities, including County Attorney Ralph Hawkes and Deputy Sheriff Harry Roberts, searched Maine and New Hampshire for missing persons matching the description.

Three Portland fishermen were rescued by the Portsmouth Harbor Coast Guard after drifting at sea for about 60 hours in a 35 foot boat.
