In Australia doctors at Bollingen hospital reported the birth of two of four quadruplets to Betty Sara, an English war bride. A son weighed five pounds 11 ounces and a daughter weighed three pounds 9.5 ounces. The mother was resting well and a second oxygen unit was arranged as the incubator could hold only two babies. The father, Percy Sara, said the first boy was “beautiful.”

Elmer 63 a Kingston poultry farm employee died today at the wheel of a pickup on Exeter's Front street when the vehicle ran out of control and struck a utility pole. Exeter police said he likely suffered a heart attack and was dead before the crash. He was driving a load of 100 pound iced bags to a Stratham branch farm from Kingston Christie farm. He lived with his sister Mrs L M Whitcomb of Kingston and had worked for the farm since April 1949. The truck had minor damage and several feed bags spilled onto the street.
Tokyo AP reports a surprise Allied landing deep in Red territory and North Korean forces retreating on two fronts. Reds beat back from serious threats to UN forces. at times avoided contact with American and South Korean troops. Some places show light to moderate resistance as retreat accelerates. Guns discarded as they flee.
