CoolAir brings relief to elderly in N H

Hampton residents Mary Finn and Helen Clapp, both 68, received working air conditioners through Project CoolAir, a grassroots effort helping subsidized housing residents since 2001. The program has donated 204 units across New Hampshire communities, raising 32000 in donations from groups including local Rotary clubs. Subsidized housing often lacks cooling, and federal funds do not cover units. Housing Authority units require residents to install their own AC with a 10 monthly surcharge.
