There will be a business meeting at 11 a.m. and a Dutch treat picnic lunch at 12:30 p.m. Anyone with exhibits of historical information about the Shapleigh family will be welcome.
Exeter Recreation Department held a recent summer picnic with winners named Cindy Cate Donna Cate Susan Cate Mary Low Fogarty and D Arcy Kingsley. The Lee Swim School closed its 14th season awarding certificates to students across Beginners Intermediates and Advanced Beginners with 100 students enrolled and support from the Ise Fire Department Auxiliary Red Cross water safety instructors and local families.
Winners across multiple dash distances at the Lavasseur area meet include Denise Young Marcel Jallant Mark Whitney Kevin Young and Helen Pierce among others. More than 60 youths attended the teen event at Globe Shopping Center with music by Stonehenge and chaperones listed. an overnight camping trip to Pawtuckaway State Park is planned for Aug 11 with sign-up at playgrounds.
Boy Scout Troop 136 of Epping held a court of honor with Robert Purpura leading the pledge and oath. David Mitchell earned Tenderfoot and Second Class ranks, Oliver Cole and John Thompson advanced to Second Class, Purpura to Second Class and awarded Quartermaster. Mothers pinned the scouts then sons pinned mothers with duplicate pins.
HAMPTON bid openings for the Mace Road sewer project were postponed from Wednesday at the Town Office to next Monday. Taika Manager Norman Cole ordered the delay after discussions with state officials on hourly wage requirements in the contract. An addendum lower wage rates deemed mandatory by the state could drive higher bids since those rates exceed prevailing local wages.
