Barre VI Aug 7 Officers and citizens search for a young man who shot and killed Leona Tracy, 12, near her home. The mother reports the assailant threatened to shoot them and himself before firing one revolver shot and fleeing.

At Weanklin New Hampshire on August 6 George Prince a mill employee waiting for the train carrying his bride to be home from Lowell was struck and died. His skull was fractured and he died an hour later. A Catholic priest aboard the train gave the last rites. Miss Jeanette Groteau, the prospective bride, was crushed by the news of her intended husband being struck by the train she had just left.
Montreal Aug 1 a parade of several thousand followed high mass at Notre Dame cathedral opening day of the 44th international convention of the Knights of Columbus. Mr and Mrs Aretas Blood Carpenter and others of Manchester have returned from two months abroad and will spend the season at North Rye Beach. Mr and Mrs F H French and daughter Dorothy and Mr and Mrs Herbert Hawes of Manchester are spending the weekend at North Iys Beach.
