Weather bulletin for northern New England and Vermont. Fair tonight, likely to Tuesday. Warmer conditions, tonight’s winds variable in Vermont, then southeast later.
Frank Johnson a Greek resident of this city is under arrest at Salisbury Beach after a Sunday incident. Johnson allegedly struck Miss Mtta Kittle on the head with a club and then attacked her with a jack knife causing a wound near her abdomen. Spectator John Goroditski separated the pair and took the knife. Johnson and Miss Kittle had been keeping company but had a falling out over a dispute said to involve $300. Police were notified by Walter Penniman and Johnson was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Other party members were held as witnesses.
John J Falvey of Kilby Street Rochester and Miss G E Perchetto of New York City were in a Rochester car that collided with Edward McAndrew’s Worth Hampton auto and then rammed G Victor Bossy’s vehicle. Miss Perchette and Falvey suffered facial cuts and knee injuries. Perchetto was treated at Hampton Beach relief station. Dr Sanborn aided Perchetto.
From Marion Ohio August crowds gathered at the Harding homestead and burial site on Mount Vernon avenue for the late President. State troops guarded the grounds to prevent sightseers, maintaining a watch after the burial for six months.
Florence A Aldrich who wandered from home into the woods Saturday was found in a woodshed at her residence early today by her husband. The woman had been dead several hours when discovered, marking the second finding in a short span.
Memorial services for President Harding were held in American churches in Paris today with prayers and services. In France many churches offered prayers for Mr. Harding and a memorial will likely be held by Cardinal Du Bois at the cathedral on the funeral day, with flags to stay at half mast until after the funeral.
The Board of Public Works will open bids at 8 p.m. Tuesday August 7 1923 for removing a large elm tree at the corner of Court Place and State Street. August 6 1923.
Washington August 6 President Coolidge listened to pleas from Samuel Gompers AFL President and Mr Morison AFL secretary for an extra session of Congress. He offered no definite plan and said he would consider the matter carefully.
Wild scenes erupted in Dublin as attempts to assemble Congress near the Mansion House were blocked by a crowd. Police failed to prevent the disturbance and prisoners faced chaotic surroundings in the August event.
A special train to bear Mr. George T. Harding Carl W. Sawyer and other Marion friends of the president traveled westward to meet the funeral train passing through town this morning. Tributes to the memory of late President Warren G. Harding were conducted by local church clergymen on Sunday.
Across Iowa crowds gathered from Marshalltown to Boone and Council Bluffs to honor Warren G. Harding as the funeral train moved toward Washington. Thousands stood along tracks before dawn in peaceful homage, while in Chicago Senator Cummins urged a one term presidency amid national mourning and plans for Harding’s Washington funeral and Marion burial.

Chairman Rickman P. Margelon of the Merchants Bureau canvassed stores and secured a three hour closure Friday from one to three pm as a token of respect. Tate President Harding County Treasurer Bers Stewart HE Rowe of Exeter have gone to West Barnstable Massachusetts on vacation.
