Great Day at York 2500th Anniversary Celebrated

York marked its 2500th anniversary with a grand parade through York Beach York Harbor and York Village featuring military bands historical floats and a sequence of commemorative exercises. Notable entries included Captain John Smith Henry Gorges and Sir William Pepperrell among others with a program of speeches prayers and a sunset boat parade on Lake Gorges and a fireworks display.
