Fisherman recalls near disaster during brief Isle of Shoals storm
Peter Morse a commercial fisherman described Wednesday’s thunderstorm as the worst 10 to 12 minutes of his 35 year career. He was aboard the Merganser a mile south of the Isle of Shoals returning from Point Pleasant New Jersey with crew member Jeff Tierney when a hatch blew off and winds reached about 70 miles per hour. The storm forced him to ride out the gusts as he neared the dock.
