Big Attendance at a Circus Under A.M.G.A. Aids

About 300 people attended the Sscuingy circus performance held Monday and Tuesday evenings under the auspices of the M. G. A. A parade at 2 o'clock drew crowds through the city. The association hall showcased freaks, side-shows, and novelty stands with Irish Professor Swindler Flondal and Meg Frances Kelly entertaining as a mystic teller. The main show featured gymnastic drills by the junior class under Physical Director B. DB allmath, with pyramid building and a procession by trained animals and a monkey. Sunny Schirmer appeared as Hogmaster. an elephant stood on two then one foot, nearly injuring itself. The ostrich mingled with audience items, booths offered refreshments, balloons, and more. Tonight’s show promised bigger attractions.

Tokio April 28 Associated Press reports Japan is constructing 29 warships with a gross tonnage of about 65,400 tons. The fleet includes eight first class cruisers and three second class cruisers, totaling 124,000? tons. The Washington daily notes the plan under terms of the Washington treaty.

Woman shoots husband at road house in Little Falls

A young woman, married to road house proprietor Samuel Campelmno at Little Falls, says he forced her to have sex. When her brother Thomas intervened, she shot Campelmno four or five times through the heart. She is held on murder charges.

Gold Standard Restored in England by Churchill Budget

London April 28 The gold standard will be restored in England from today via a Bank of England license to export bullion the move announced by Chancellor Winston Churchill in his budget speech. Budgets show internal revenue yield satisfactory. excess profits and corporate taxes posted a deficit but were offset by yields from thecome tax and death duties. Churchill said Britain will obtain credits in the United States for not less than 100,000,000 with potential expansion, and McKenna duties on imported luxuries may apply. Interest on the national debt has been reduced since 1920 by over 70 million sterling.
