LeBron James cemented his legacy as he propelled the Cleveland Cavaliers to a dramatic Game 7 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. The title now sits firmly within James's storied career.
Fire crews battling a central New Mexico blaze received help from lighter winds and cooler temps on Monday. The improving conditions aided suppression efforts as crews worked to contain the flames. No injuries were reported.

Stephanie Chavez, 23, was crowned Miss New Mexico at the 75th annual pageant. She credited six years of effort and will compete at Miss America on Sept 11. Chavez spoke on immigration and literacy advocacy, winning a $5,000 scholarship. Retired 1993 winner Sharron Melton hosted the finale.
Miss Portales Outstanding Teen Madison Belcher, 16, won Miss New Mexico Outstanding Teen while 2016 Miss New Mexico Stephanie Chavez, 23, formerly Miss Albuquerque, claimed Miss New Mexico. Over 400 attendees helped award $22,000 in scholarships as organizers wrapped the event. Greg Smith, executive director of the Miss New Mexico scholarship organization, called the week a great time for all.

Portales High School alumni from classes 1980 to 1989 gathered at the Yam Theatre for a 1980s reunion night with snacking dancing and reminiscing. The 1986 group marked their 30th reunion as they recalled cruising the halls and reading The Rampage.
