Richardson weighs two special sessions for taxes and health care
Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico announced he may call two special sessions this year. He plans a possible October tax overhaul session and is weighing a separate health care session, with no dates set yet. An end of September deadline exists for a health care recommendations commission. The regular 30 day January session remains on schedule.

Seminar helps Portales start-up businesses grow

Cannon Airmen Return After Seven Months Deployments
About 40 airmen from the 27th Civil Engineers at Cannon Air Force Base return this afternoon from seven months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. A reception is planned at The Landing with a 5 30 p m arrival, smaller than earlier welcomes. Col. Robert Yates praised the unit as American heroes and lethal warfighters.
