Former Justice Douglas Discharged From Portland Hospital
Former Supreme Court Justice William C. Douglas is discharged from Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. He flew to Washington, D C with his son William Jr after a stay that began May 5 to learn how to use an electronic device to ease pain from a December 1974 stroke. Dr Joseph Pacquet, his long time physician, said the patient is in good condition and pain has diminished. he will continue care with Dr Thomas Connally in Washington.
