Venezuela Rejects Bargain Oil for US Storage Plan
Venezuela, a key US supplier, says it will not discount oil for a proposed 150 million barrel storage reserve. Deputy minister Hernan Anzola says more oil could be sold only at market prices, while noting no US official offer has been made. The plan, led by Frank Zarb, aims to stockpile crude in three years to cushion future embargo risks. Oil output and prices remain tied to OPEC, with inflation and Bali talks drifting into pricing discussions.

The spill, 1,500 to 2,000 barrels from a ruptured barge, left globs on shore at Eagle Point near San Leon and Red Fish Island Wednesday. The spill occurred about three miles north of the Texas City dike and the Houston Ship Channel reopened to traffic with slow navigation near the rupture.
