Liberty ship sinks to form Texas coast reef
The ninth surplus World War II Liberty ship was sunk off Port O Connor Texas about 30 miles south-southeast to become the third part of an artificial reef. The 440 foot vessel was cleaned and towed by the Hollie Ann Vizier to Koly MA B FR-3 and sunk after three explosive charges. The reef aims to boost both commercial and sport fishing along the coast.
