Presbytery Blocks Alabama Pastor From Two East Texas Churches
The Presbytery of the Covenant denied reception of Rev. Gordon Lyle of Dadeville Alabama, blocking him from serving First Presbyterian Church of Waskom and asst minister at First Presbyterian Church of Marshall due to differing theological views. The ruling cites concerns about salvation grace, the Trinity, sacraments, neo Pentecostalism and women’s ordination. Lyle may appeal. Marshall church petition had deemed him acceptable.
