Statewide hearing set on pass-through of fuel costs
The Texas Railroad Commission will hold a statewide hearing on August 2 to examine the pass-through of fuel costs on utility bills. Gas Utilities Division Director Frank Youngblood urged the action, noting many ratepayers misunderstand the fuel adjustment charge as profit and that only actual costs flow through to customers. The hearing invites gas utilities, other gas-fueled public utilities, municipalities, and concerned parties to present evidence on costs from purchasing natural gas.
