Port Neches-Groves Wins 4A State Title at Texas Stadium
Port Neches-Groves Indians defeated Permian 20 to 10 to claim the 4A state championship at Texas Stadium. Coach Doug Ethridge noted yardage totals were misleading as PNG forced two key turnovers and did not fumble. Ricky Ethridge scored the opening TD on a 14-yard scramble, followed by a quick PNG score before a sequence of turnovers shaped the early drive.
