Duck Hunting Opens Saturday with Cold Keeping Some Off the Water
Cold weather keeps fishermen off the shore as the second half of the duck and goose hunting season opens Saturday and runs to January 18. Local centers report trout in the one to two pound range with live shrimp and fewer redfish. Indianola reports strong trout action, Port O Connor sees fair fishing with mostly trout, and anglers are adapting as northerly winds push fish around and limit redfish. Brewer urges anglers to find shelter from the wind.
