NAIA Champs Can Fill Schedule Against Major Collectors
Texas A&I coach Gil Steinke spoke with AP from Kingsville about why top programs avoid scheduling his 26 win team. He said major colleges fear embarrassment and small schools fear the lopsided losses. Steinke cited Hawaii and Salem finals as evidence of quality, and noted attempts to attract Grambling and larger conferences, while stressing their status as a small college program facing scheduling hurdles.
