Customs to use Vesco-linked jet in narcotics crackdown
U S Customs will deploy a $1 million executive jet linked to fugitive financier Robert L Vesco in a drive against airborne narcotics smuggling along the U S Mexico border. The plane seized Aug 21 1974 at San Antonio International Airport is being fitted with radar and other mods and should be ready by Jan 1. The aircraft owned by Thomas P Richardson was used in an alleged gun running scheme and awarded to the government after a federal court ruling. The craft is expected to cut response time along the 2000 mile border.
