Forest fires sweep southern England and Wales amid drought

Fires raged across six counties in southern England and Wales as firefighters battled two large forest blazes and more than 200 smaller fires. About 3,000 people evacuated, including 1,000 from a country club and 360 from St Leonard's Hospital. 50 homes destroyed. Six square miles burned in Hurn Forest near Southampton as crews warned of possible reignition amid britain's worst drought in 250 years.
