AM Radio Fire Alarm System Installed in New Castle
A new solid state coded radio fire alarm system replaces wired units in New Castle Pennsylvania. Gamewell a division of Gulf and Western Manufacturing Co provides individual radio transmitters with no wire to the central center. Tone encoded amplitude modulated signals improve range and clarity. Each box uses rechargeable maintenance free lead acid batteries lasting at least six months. Twenty two of the 69 boxes are master units enabling automatic operation from building fire alarm systems.
