County Officials UK Survey for New Bridges
County Commissioners Court authorized County Engineer John Huth to develop a feasibility study for adding international bridges linking the county with Mexico. A unanimous resolution supports enhancing the Gateway bridge, adding a span near the B M Bridge to serve Amigoland, and building a bridge below San Benito and Harlingen near Los Indios with cooperation from the San Benito International Bridge Co. Funds were raised privately years ago but Mexico has not yet approved. The county will aid in obtaining Mexican approval for the Los Indios bridge and others in Brownsville.
