Public Boat Ramp Move Underway For Padre Island
Ed Cooper of the Valley Sportsman's Club says a plan is in motion to build a public boat ramp on Padre Island with Texas Highway Department funds for ramps but not for easements. Tolls are removed and site search is proving difficult due to valuable water frontage. Potential sites include Falcon Lake Park, Brownsville ship channel, Arroyo Colorado at Rio Hondo, Arroyo City, and Llano Grande Lake near Mercedes. Arroyo City ramp work was delayed by the hurricane.
