The Harlingen Internal Revenue Office will be open on Saturday March 6 from 8 15 a m to 5 p m. Local representative John M Buck announced the extra Saturday hours to aid taxpayers who cannot visit on regular days and to extend service to the public.

TB Patch Tests To Be Given March 15

TB patch tests will be given to Port Isabel school students on Monday March 15. Cards have been sent to most parents and others will receive cards to be signed by those parents who desire to have the patch test given to their children.

Fire damages heavy on dredge Padre Island in Port Isabel

A second fire in less than 36 hours damaged the Padre Island dredge owned by B. B. Burnell Dredging Co. Port Isabel. The blaze started before 11:30 am likely from an electrical short, with engines possibly affected. Damagees were reported as considerable and no exact estimate available.
