George Trump, chairman of Cameron County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1, says Port Isabel’s water remains similar to last week with no lawn sprinkler ban. Residents are urged to water at night and conserve voluntarily as domestic demand is high. rationing may not be needed.
The Cub Scouts met at the home of their leader Mrs. Robert Bellin in La Pina Vista on Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm. The six members and their leaders Mrs. Bell and Mrs. J L S Merryman attended a troop discussion on different thirds. Lemonade was served.
A parish meeting on June 14 named committees for the five day bazaar at the Catholic church on Rutter August 5 and 6. Proceeds support the church enlargement program with groups assigned to can tosses drinks snow cone and other activities led by local residents and families.

Valley Gold Star Mothers and wives of Rio Grande are invited to a precession on Thursday June 28 at 6 oclock in the wallroom of the Cotte hotel in Westats. The event is sponsored by the 16th District of the American Legion Auxiliary with Elsa 44 Diguet as Gold Star Chairman and in charge of arrangements. Committee members include Mrs. Charles Jones Mercedes and Mrs Harry Bureman Wes ined. The Valley Auxiliary Units are urged to attend.
Karen Petch Barbara Thoroughman and Larry Bedell will leave Monday on a chartered bus for Mt. Wesley to attend the MYF Encampment for one week. The bus will depart from the church grounds.
Mir HY Sehendt returned Tuesday from Cheyenne Wyoming where he attended the Nations DOES convention.

The Boy Scout Council plans a Sunday dedication for its new headquarters in Harlingen. The facility, costing about 45000 under the Earl Gade Foundation, features a five-room workshop and 14,000 square feet, with a 14.5 acre parking area and space for 4300 Scouts and 1400 adults. The program will include local officials, speakers, and a dedication ceremony at the new site on South City Street.
