Extension Service Offers Child Guidance Course
The Cameron County Agricultural Extension Service sponsors a bilingual mail-out series titled Child Plus Play Equals Learning. Parents students and teachers will receive ideas for thought and simple preschool activities by mail with sections on positive disciplining and child development observation. A certificate of completion is issued and a $1 donation supports material costs.

Moore Among Freshmen at VMI
John W. Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Moore of Laguna Vista, is among 360 freshmen at the Virginia Military Institute enrolled August 22. New cadets will have a week of orientation before classes begin. Moore graduated valedictorian from Port Isabel High School last May.

About 25 000 exemption forms for homestead tax relief up to 3000 are mailed to last year claimants in Cameron County. 5 000 to 6 000 may be 65 or older and sign the affidavit to reduce county tax by as much as 33 dollars this year. Returns must come promptly to apply to 1973 taxes.
