James Conroy Heads Emington Legion Post

James Conroy was elected commander of the Flynn Eich Post of the American Legion at their meeting Monday evening. Officers named include Freddie Downbierer as vice commander James Gray as adjutant and Morris DeMoltte as finance officer. Donald Bunting son of Mr and Mrs James Bunting was chosen as representative to Premiere Boys State in Springfield beginning June 23. Police Find Stereo Tapes

A box of stereo tapes was found by the City Police on Tuesday morning on the south side of Pontiac. Chief Edward Hamilton said the owner may claim the tapes at City Hall by identifying them.

Bank Debits Rise 38 Percent Year Over Year

Checks cleared by Pontiac banks rose 38.36 percent last week from the same week a year earlier. The total reached $5,852,592.95 versus $4,229,998.38 in 1968, an increase of $1,622,594.57. The prior week totaled $4,441,092.18. Leader Advertising Pays.

Mrs Dean Evenglow Resident Dies At 73

Mrs Everett Dean 73 died Monday at Evenglow Lodge where she had lived two years. Funeral was held at 11 a.m. today at Christ United Church in Hammond Indiana. Survivors: husband of Evenglow Lodge two sons Leon of Crown Point Lyndon of Griffith and two daughters Rosemary O'Brien of Hammond and Mrs Floydkin of Jacksonville. Donovan Gardner and Walter Lauer of Pontiac attended.
