Mrs. Anna G. Lane 66 died Friday night at Helen Lewis Pavilion after a year of illness. Funeral 11 a.m. at John’s Catholic Church Fairbury with burial in Avoca Cemetery. Born April 5 1908 in Hanover Germany she married George Lane May 30 1929. Surviving two sons a daughter ten grandchildren and several siblings in Germany.

Roselle man escapes injury in U S 66 jackknifing
Henry Menconi 53 of Roselle escaped injury when his semitrailer jackknifed on wet pavement on U S 66 at Route 116. State Police say Trooper Dan Falcomata cited him for driving too fast for conditions. Damage to the truck was about 1000 dollars and to the traffic signal about 300 dollars.
