Emington youths compete in crops contest

Kath leen Anna Cramer and Kenneth Cramer, Emington youths, compete in the 1968 National Canning Crops Contest. Winners will be named at the 34th Annual National Junior Horticultural Association Convention in Atlanta, Ga, this month. Kathleen Ann Cramer won first place in the junior section in Illinois. Kenneth Cramer won second. They grew tomatoes and were sponsored by Campbell Soup Co. The contest judges crop problems, cultural practices, yield, quality, and profit. Co-sponsored by the National Junior Horticultural Association and the National Canners Association to promote agriculture careers. Local canning companies sponsor the youths.
