Candlelight Service at Flanagan St John’s Lutheran Church

State guides aim to lift Livingston County districts back to full recognition

OSPI issued guidelines to four small Livingston County districts Owego Rooks Creek Sunbury and Pontiac Esmen. They must offer an acceptable alternative program to the one teacher per grade goal by year end or face probation. A combined class with six specified components may satisfy the standard provided teacher pupil ratios do not exceed 1 to 25.

Death of Dwight resident Fred L. Gantzert at 87

Fred L. Gantzert, 87, of Dwight, died Friday at Continental Manor Nursing Home. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Baker Funeral Home. burial in Goodfarm Cemetery. Born Oct 22, 1885 in Goodfarm Township, he married Julia Schrotberger in 1911. she died in 1964. Survived by a daughter Dorothy Rieke, Gardner. two sons Ralph and Donald. six grandchildren. 12 great grandchildren. a brother Elmer Gantzert. He lived in Dwight since 1942 and was a United Methodist Church member.
