Ellsworth Predicts Cubs Improvement for 1966

Mrs Phillips 89 Dies Funeral Friday
Mrs. Phillips aged 89 died Wednesday at her daughter’s home in Pike Township. Her funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Pils Memorial Tome with Rev. Nornuta Kos officiating. Burial in Pike Tasistip Cemetery. She was born in 1876 in Gallopelis Ohio, married Alvin Phillips in 1917, widowed in 1943. Survived by daughter Mrs. Genty, five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She was a member of the Langiour Megtadist Church.

The Vsthee Society of the bist Lutheran Church met at the parish hall on Tuesday evening with Mrs. Glaser presenting the program Journey to Christmas assisted by Mrs. Harriet Rapp. President Marion Fayer led the business meeting in a gathering of 18 members and two visitors. Members voted to send cash gifts to Martin Luther Home in Nebraska and Muscatine Homes in dow, buy poinsettias for Christmas services, and donate small jars of jelly for elderly people. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Florette Piper, Mrs. Sykes, and Mrs. Dixon.
