The Esther Society of the First Lutheran Church met in the parish hall Tuesday evening with Mrs. Ray Simonson presiding and 28 members attending. Christmas carols were sung. Carol Wuebben sang a solo accompanied by Elaine Wuebben. Recitations were given by Denita Schott and Patty Mayer. Christie Henkel sang a solo accompanied by Brenda Herkel. Mrs Ida Mae Fortna read a Christmas story. Mre drene Cairns was in charge of the program. Offering meditation and prayer were given by Mrs Elma Rapp. Toys were brought and Mrs Rapp gave them to Captain Elizabeth Yoder and Lt Otis of the Salvation Army. Refreshments were served by Mrs Esther Swartz, Mrs Sharon Popp, Mrs Evelyn Shaffer and Mrs Lela Glaser.
Kasembira aims to return to Africa to work as a social worker after study at Paine College in Augusta Georgia and a six week internship at Epworth Forest in North Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church. He and his family reside in a University house in Bloomington aided by area Methodist women.
