Public Library Adds 58 New Volumes
The Pontiac Public Library has acquired 58 volumes in the past two months. Librarian Esther Balbach notes 28 fiction and 30 non fiction volumes, listing numerous titles and authors including Saul Bellow, Howard Fast, and G. K. Chesterton among others. The collection spans mysteries, classics, and contemporary works with limited editions included.

Baptist Mission Society Potluck Supper at First Baptist
The Mission Society of the First Baptist Church will sponsor a potluck dinner on Wednesday Dec 9 at 6 30 p m in the church parlors. Men of the church are special guests for the Christmas meeting with devotions by Mrs George Potter and a program theme There is No Time Like Christmas by Mrs Harry Hansbrough. A business meeting follows led by president Mrs Fred Croft with reports on gifts to missionaries Christmas gifts for the County Home a clothing drive coupons and stamps to northern Baptist and other year end offerings. The Ruth Circle will serve refreshments.

Circle Entertains At County Home
The Miriam Circle of the First Baptist Church held services Friday at the Livingston County Nursing Home with Mrs. Charles Porter in charge and Mrs. Edith Bauknecht on piano. Duets by Mrs. Margaret Cue and Mrs. Florence Eggelston followed devotions by Mrs. Fred Croft Sr who spoke on "How Christian Am I" and read "I am a Cane" as the social hour began with Mrs. Wertz and Mrs. Baukneckt assisting.

Chenoa PTA Plans Book Fair Readied for December
The Chenoa Parent Teacher Association announces a book fair December 8 to 11. Dates include daytime hours 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and evening hours 7 to 9 p.m. December 8 at the grade school gymnasium, with December 10 and 11 at Chenoa High School from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 10 p.m. A wide range of hardcover and paperback books for all ages will be offered.
