Thresher Reunion to honor workers on Labor Day
The Zehr family will present about 50 President's Awards at 4 p.m. Monday Sept 3 at the 4-H Park to honor longtime Thresher Reunion workers marking the 25th reunion started in 1949 by Dan S. Zehr. Railroad signal damaged in crash near Dwight
A railroad signal on U S 66 near Dwight was demolished when a vehicle left the road and struck it. Carol A. Cogswell, 20, Bartonville, reported the crash about 3 10 p m causing $2 700 damage to her 1973 Ford and $800 to the crossing signal. A second crash at Routes 17 170 injured two drivers, Leo Carbone 71 Streator and Georgia Carruthers 56 Venona. Carbone received a ticket for failure to yield.
