Cornell schools set to begin classes with staff workshop

Instructors at Cornell High School and Cornell Grade School will attend a 9 a.m. workshop on Monday August 30 with a 1 15 p.m. in service session led by Dr. C W Edwards of Illinois State University on pupil evaluation. Students return with a half day on Tuesday August 31 and full day September 1.

Grain livestock outlook meeting set for Livingston farmers

Grain and livestock prospects for the next year will be discussed at an outlook meeting for Livingston County farmers. The Sept. 9 event at Westview Grade School, Fairbury, will feature University of Illinois farm management specialist R.B. Schwarz and banker I. Frank Green. A steak dinner runs 5:30 to 7 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 7:30. Tickets are available countywide.
