Vacation Church School at the First Methodist Church ran from August 8 to 19 with 142 total enrollments and an average of 130 attendees. The study themes covered family plans, world Christian community, and living as Christians amid conflict. Co-superintendents were Mrs. Lewis Voigts and Mrs. D. T. Edwards. class superintendents included several named members, with many teachers and helpers listed.

Floyd Highland and daughter Sandra traveled through Indiana Ohio Virginia and North Carolina. William Foster Abel Erickson hosted Sunday dinner with Oral Olson family. Howard Shay and sons Bobby Andy and daughter Tamara visited Don ald Harris in Pontiac. Ivan Perry and daughters of Blackstone joined Floyd Highland family for Sunday visits. Area residents attended the wedding of Miss Ann Keitveit and Dr William Smith at Pontiac First Baptist Church with guests Albert Keitveit Lloyd Baughman David Rapp and families Charles Knudson daughters Mary Lou Julie Anna Laura Sampson.
