TVA Reclaims 5,000 Acres of Strip-Mined Land
TVA reports mine operators who sell it coal planted and seeded more than 5,000 acres of strip-mined land with trees and grasses last year. Of this, 2,406 acres were in Tennessee and 2,181 acres in Kentucky, with smaller tracts in several other states. Mr and Mrs Richard Zehr and the Flanagan family hosted relatives from Goshen Ind as they travelled Friday to the Flanagan area. Eric and Mathew Yordy remained for a ten day stay with their grandparents while their parents vacation. Mrs Yordy and her children had visited Flanagan for 18 days.
