On September 2 in Laurens Iowa at the Carlson home the Rev Mattson joined Miss Marie Charlotte Carlson and Mr Enoch Hedstrom in marriage before about twenty guests. The couple, both praised for character and prospects, will reside on the groom’s Rockwell City area farm. The bridal party included Esther and Ruth Carlson with attendants Peter Hedstrom, dress themes of pink, white and blue. A three course supper followed the ceremony before their departure for a new life together.

Fire damages barn at Eberle home in Pocahontas
A fire last Thursday destroyed most of Frank Eberle’s barn in southwest Pocahontas, with a Ford car and hay and grain losses. The origin is unknown as the Eberles were away. Insurance covers the barn only. contents and roughly $400 loss to the owner are uninsured. A health notice follows about school attendance and a graded list of teachers and attendance at the local High School and grades.

Laurens School Opens With Large Enrollment
Laurens opened Monday with one of the largest enrollments in its history. By week’s end more than 300 pupils will be on the registers. Rooms are crowded and the need for a new building is keenly felt.
