Mrs. George Schlinkmann a former Carroll county resident now living near Glidden Texas is recovering from glanders at St. An thony s hospital in Glidden. She moved from Glidden to Texas about three years ago and in February this year contracted a severe glanders case. She has been moved to the hospital annex to prevent spread, and an auto vaccine derived from diseased tissues was used with regular injections of anti toxin resulting in marked improvement.

J S Wattles Dies at 85 in Sioux City and Missouri Valley

The remains of J S Wattles civil engineer longtime servant of Northwestern and Sioux City and Pacific arrived by special train from Sioux City where he died at eighty five. Funeral held at First Presbyterian church Missouri Valley with interment in Missouri Valley cemetery. He was a longtime resident influential in city affairs and active in drainage engineering in western Iowa.

Mrs. R. R. McBride, wife of a Des Moines undertaker, sues Laeta Jaques for 25000 dollars in district court alleging Jaques attracted her husband away from their marriage. She says they wed May 17 1896 and that in October 1914 Jaques began winning his affection and gifts, gaining control over his conduct.
