Church notices announce a ward conference to be held the next evening September 15 with Marcaet Meeks presiding over the second division.
A reception honoring planners was well received Monday afternoon as the cabin filled with attendees. County Chapter of Prove visitors spoke and performed music led by James A. Nixon and Howard Nixon. Mary Lee entertained, and an Annin Mol Wan skit drew laughs with Hose Hayes and Alvin Olpin. Refreshments were served under Mrs Pearl Wadsey. Evening program impressed despite light attendance, with Captains Holman and Warnick delivering talks and pleasing musical numbers from Pleasant Grove.
Superintendent David Gourley injured ankle while leaving office at American Fork. He suffered a ligament tear and inward hemorrhage, had foot opened at American Fork Hospital, and another operation followed. His family mourns a missionary son in Holland after an accident.
The speaker will be Attorney Sherman Christensen addressing The Constitution. The sextetto will sing The Flag United A Saint. America will be sung by the congregation. Primary stake board members meet Wednesday evening at the stake office.

The Fathers and Sons of the Third ward will meet at Mutual Dell Saturday evening to prepare supper, then perform a program. They will spend the night at the Dell and return Sunday morning for church duties.
A large crowd filled the Third ward meeting house Sunday evening to honor Jesse Monson who left by train Thursday for his mission to the Swiss German mission. He has two years of German language training at the BU and is equipped for his labors.
Hazel Fryer named Relief Society president succeeding Luella Cullimore. Margaret West and Hazel Dell Gillman named first and second counselors. Edie J. Hardiman retained as secretary after eighteen years of service.
Public notice announces special bond election in Pleasant Grove Utah County on October 26 1937 to raise funds for a city hall jail and library repair and improvement and to prepare an official plat. Ballot details require YES or NO votes on two bond issues with polling districts and appointed election judges listed.
Water works chief David Walker to run a new road grader bought for 4050 dollars to clear streets and snow. Payment over four and a half years funded by State aid permit funds. city to receive about 1106 dollars annually from automobile registration fees. City aims to improve street maintenance with the new equipment.
A homecoming for David Walker son of Mr and Mrs Sanford Walker will be held Sunday evening September 19 in the Third ward chapel. Walker returned last week from a 30 month mission in New Zealand serving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent time in the office and in the field and brings a love for New Zealand and its people. A musical program and remarks by the returned missionary and the bishop are planned. Attendance is invited.
