David S Walker son of J Sanford Walker of Pleasant Grove and American Fork has been chosen production manager for KOVO Utah's new radio station. A BYU and University of Utah graduate with a speech and journalism major, he previously served as Zion Lodge program director with Utah Parks. He did a two year New Zealand mission as secretary, won the 1938 Omega Nu journalism award, and belonged to Theta Alpha Phi while active in campus radio.

Pleasant Grove Team Wins Acclaim At Utah County Fair
At the Utah County Fair on Saturday afternoon Pleasant Grove's heavyweights impressed by pulling 2800 pounds and dragging 3000 pounds for 11 feet 2 inches, earning second in the heavyweight class behind Arvil Scott's 3970 pound team with 3100 pull. Mr and Mrs Vilace Raimal and Mr and Mrs Ray Merrill visited Salt Lake City Wednesday. A former football star at B U is named assistant football manager and will assist in music and mathematics. Back to School notes a rush on alarm clocks and headache powder as students return. A pre season football game versus Park City is set for September 15 on the Pleasant Grove campus with practice beginning on the first day of school.

P. G. Couple Have Interesting Trip To Eastern Coast
Mr and Mrs JP Fugal recently returned from a three week tour of New England and the New York world’s fair with their son and daughter in law Roy Fugal. They traveled over 300 miles along the Atlantic coast visiting Boston area historic sites and major institutions. Highlights include the New York world’s fair with the House of Magic by General Electric and the Lagoon of Nations. The trip covered Harvard Yale MIT and other prominent campuses and coastal scenery from the eastern seaboard.
