Mrs EL Madser of Murray and Miss Ruby Williams of Provo visited Pleasant Grove relatives over the weekend. Wyoming and Alberta guests joined local families, while locals reported illnesses, births, travel plans, and a string of visitors from Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Nebraska, and Canada.

Brothers Caught With Stolen Car

Last Tuesday at 10 p m a Tudor Ford V 8 demonstration car was stolen from in front of Harvey Page Motor Company. Mechanics inside did not hear the theft but later found the car missing. Police broadcast the description citywide. The car was recovered Friday in Salt Lake City. Two men, who said they were brothers and named Hanson, were arrested and brought to Provo for preliminary hearing on a theft charge. The car bore the license of George Barton Jr of Provo, possibly taken from his car. Dealer license numbers remain unfound.

Fire department holds annual Canyon social in American Fork

Pleasant Grove fire department members host a Wednesday evening picnic in American Fork canyon with a campfire, games, and community singing. The event normally includes all members and their wives, and the newest recruit is Lee Peterson of Christensen's Thrift Store.

Driggs Visits Pleasant Grove to Commemorate Pioneers

Howard R. Driggs of New York met with Pleasant Grove leaders and pioneer descendants to renew vows to preserve heritage. The plan calls a yearly permanent marker on Pleasant Grove birthday September 13 to honor early settlers and inspire youth with local history through school projects and yearly sponsored activities. The current effort focuses on repairing and repainting twelve initial temporary markers erected by descendants of the pioneers.

The Junior Girls of the Second ward M. I A. staged a fine program Sunday evening with president Mrs Lois West in charge. The theme flowers and their influence on life inspired demonstrations by Layina Fugal on flower arrangement and display prep. Elda Neves sang tributes to flowers, with numbers by Miriam Adamzon Miss Jense and a closing chorus. Towers decorated the building for the event.
