4-H Club Fair At Manila Brings Exhibits And Judging

The Manila Pleasant Grove 4-H fair opens at 2:00 p m with exhibits due by 10:49 a m and judging at 12:00 noon. Miss Hinsen of Provo Power & Light will judge. Cattle from Manila boys 4-H dairy club and diverse 4-H groups will display scrapbooks, clothing, menus, and demonstrations. Local clubs arrange ice cream sales and programs with district leaders assisting.

Bakery opens in former Christensen’s building Saturday

A new Griffin's Bakery of American Pork opens tomorrow in the former Christensen's store building. The shop will be operated by a local man or woman and will carry a complete line of fresh bakery products including bread.

C Ben Halliday Called by Death

Relatives and friends of Cyrus Benjamin Halliday were shocked to learn of his death at the LD 5 hospital Saturday evening at 9 o clock. He was 63, son of Joseph and Louisa Halliday, born in the area. He worked for the Utah Idaho Sugar company 36 years at Lehi and Idaho points, transferred to West Jordan plant this spring. Funeral services were held at American Fork Wednesday afternoon.
