Trophies and ribbon winners at the Lindon Community Fair were announced across multiple divisions. Notable names include Lotte Carlson, Dora P. Attendance Rules At Pleasant Grove High School

Pleasant Grove High School lays out credit tied to attendance for a 90 day semester with full credit at 62 days and partial credit for 75 to 81 days. Waivers are possible for illness or uncontrollable absences with two week notice to the Attendance Committee. Community Concerts invite participation from residents, phone lines listed for joining.

Payson Golden Onion Days Homecoming Week Schedule

Payson's Golden Onion Days and Homecoming run Friday through Monday September 3–6 with events for all ages. The lineup includes The Wisdom Tree musical at Payson High School, horse races at Payson Park, a free fireworks display, rock art show, mini parade, band concert, mammoth parade, a city carnival, and a Payson pool water show. Dog Laws Keep Mensant Grove Pets In Check

Dog complaints are addressed by Mensant Grove City ordinances enforcement. Police Officer Sophen L Frampton says dogs must be leashed and supervised, barking or dangerous dogs are unlawful, and officers may destroy dogs found at large or disturbing the peace to protect residents and property. Owners are urged to license and comply with wildlife rules.

Jr League Opens Football Season in Utah Valley

The 1971 football season starts next Saturday with Utah Valley Conference teams in action. P.G. Eagles coached by Bruce Dalley aim to improve after finishing third last year. Lindon Steelers, defending champs coached by the Wilkinson brothers, bring nine straight wins into the opener at the A P City ball park.

Provo Bulldogs Defeat Pleasant Grove in Season Opener 39-21

Provo high school opened Region Four football with a 39 to 21 win over Pleasant Grove. Gary Ashton and Jeff Smith connected on scoring plays, and Provo added six touchdowns and three extra points. Pleasant Grove, led by Jorgensen, fought back with a 60 yard return and a 65 yard punt return for scores, setting up a clash with Lehi next week.

Log Cabin Decay Concerns Raised by Pioneer Committee

Pleasant Grove celebration organizers report decay in the log cabin logs. Eight Pioneer Museum and Log Cabin committee members cleaned the buildings after termite inspections. Mrs Alta Hone will head a task force to investigate causes and treatments and asks for public information.

Seal Coat Planned for Highway 91 and Nearby Routes

Utah Department of Highways announces a seal coat with cover material will be applied to U S Highway 91 89 and Alternate 50 from 300 East Street in American Fork to north Orem City limits a distance of about five miles. Work starts September 7 weather permitting and lasts three to four days traffic controlled by signs flagmen and pilot cars Motorists are urged to use an alternate route if possible to prevent glass breakage and other damage from high speeds during construction
