Officials in Utah County consider federal funds for civil works projects aiming to improve water supply cemetery and city improvements. County commissioners plan to roll forward these requests before November 15 as relief rolls and tax considerations factor into employment plans for residents facing job losses.

It will be equipped with a Waterous pump of 950 gallons per minute at 120 pounds pressure, with ladders hoses and gear from on hand. The old truck will be traded in and the city will be fully equipped, improving reliability and safety for homeowners and property owners alike.
Mr and Mrs Fred Foutz announce the marriage of their daughter Mary to J Wayne Carrigan of Salt Lake City at Salt Lake Tuesday November. Miss Foutz is a graduate nurse of the L D hospital and popular among colleagues. The couple will reside in Salt Lake City.
Government funded program to establish adult education classes in communities with unemployed teachers. Pleasant Grove will offer night classes in Recreation and Physical Education, Physics, Speech and Dramatic Arts, Agriculture, Mathematics, Home Economics and Music.
The First Second and Windsor wards plan a Relief Society ward conference next Sunday evening November 26. In the First Ward program Ella Tomlinson presides with talks on teaching religion at home and social service by Net tie Garnett, plus a retold story and a duet. The Windsor program features magazine talks by Martha Keetch, a retold story, a chorus, and a poetry reading, with Mary Maxfield on spirituality in the home and remarks by stake officers and the bishop.
A thief entered the Alhambra theatre ten days after its closing and stole projector caps from operating machines. The loss is valued at over a thousand dollars. the parts are numbered for identification if recovered.
The Utah County Red Cross district extends the roll call deadline to December 6 due to missing beet and tomato grower checks. Last year Timpanogos district distributed over $3,000 worth of flour and clothing from a small membership.
The Manila Primary association will present the playlet Naaman the Leper next Sunday night November 26 in their conference. The dramatisation will be performed by every ward in the Timpanogos stake, with several wards already presenting it.

The Pleasant Grove Fish and Game association sponsors a Thanksgiving morning clay pigeon shoot at 10 o'clock in the city park or rodeo grounds. Members will host and welcome all non professional shooters to join. prizes go to the best score and the lowest score. Be on time to avoid delaying Ma's turkey dinner.
At a regular meeting and drill on Monday evening the local fire department began a course in fire fighting education. Fireman LeRoy Thorne prepared and delivered the lesson titled The Use of Fire Equipment.
A farewell program was held Sunday at the Third Ward chapel honoring Ford West who will depart soon for the Texas mission. The event featured readings musical numbers and talks by Bishop F D Atwood D A West of Salt Lake City and the incoming missionary Ford West.
The Manila ward will hold a reunion next Friday at 7 30 p m with handshaking for the group fathers followed by a tray luncheon served by the ward Old Folks committee. The activity committee will present entertaining numbers toasts and sentiments and the evening will finish with dancing.
Logan Mr. George Warnick of Pleasant Grove wins the Union Pacific Scholarship for Utah County and has registered at Utah State Agricultural College. The 4-H club member earned the award for outstanding work and is the son of Mr and Mrs C L Warnick of Pleasant Grove.
