American Legion Post To Entertain Saturday Night
The Monsant Grove Post No. 70 of the American Legion invites ex service men from WWI and WWII to a banquet and dance on Armistice Day, November 11, at 8 p.m. in Second Ward Amusement Hall. Dinner costs $1.00 and includes the program and dance. Special guests include active duty LA US Armed Forces personnel on furlough in Pleasant Grove. New officers will be installed after the charter and a program.

Harvey Brothers Win The Ogden Livestock Show
Kenneth and J H Harvey of Pleasant Grave exhibited ten Duroc hogs at the Ogden Livestock Show November 4 8. Two hogs graded prime six graded choice two graded good. The two prime hogs placed fourth and seventh overall. Prize money totaled 40 dollars. The prime animals sold at two cents per pound over market. The brothers called the trip enjoyable and worthwhile.

Gerald Belliston a Nephi Utah native is named manager of Christensen's Thrift Store in Pleasant Grove. He previously managed Christensen's Store in Nephi for over five years and is active in community projects with the Nephi Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is married with three children and will move to Pleasant Grove when a home is secured. Relatives report Sergeant Kenneth Beers, recently released from hospital, wishes him success. Sergeant Beers has served four years, mostly in the Pacific, now at Saipan. Sgt Bryce Wadley will study veterinary medicine in Washington DC, wife Angelyn Wadley to stay with her mother in Great Falls Montana. Sgt Cecil Huntsman on furlough from the Pacific. he served 22 months including Guam and Bougainville as a U. S. Marine. Boyd Gardner, discharged from U. S. Marines with disability, is home in the city, injured on the Eniwetok battlefront.

Lieutenant Walker has been hospitalized for a month recuperating from wounds received in action in Italy last July. Mrs. Walker, Ruth Walters of Mesanuri, says he is much improved and it is wonderful to be home. He will report back to Indianapolis for further assignment.

Loren Rt Weeks 43, born December 17, 1900, a former Pleasant Grove resident, died in Bagley Idaho from injuries in a car crash on Wednesday. Survived by his wife Charlotte Paskett, children Verna Belva Dennis Glen Dell, his mother Mrs Weeks of Pleasant Grove, and siblings Sanford Lynn Weeks Fern Weeks Radmal and Helen Weeks of Los Angeles. He attended local schools and Brigham Young University for three years before moving to Burley Idaho to farm and raise stock.

Funeral Services Held Wed For Charlotte Sorenson
Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Prescilla Riching Sorensen were held Wednesday in Pleasant Grove for the 77 year old, who died Saturday in Magna. The service featured hymns led by soloists, prayers, and tributes by Bishop J S Walker and J A West. She is survived by eight children, 31 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a brother Fred Richins of Rexburg, and many in laws and in the armed forces.
