Pred Cummings of atrade will address a meeting of sugar business men at 6 68 p m in the city hall. State association invited to attend. Resolutions will be considered on stabilizing domestic sugar and a united stand in the western fight. Discussions focus on beet sugar and its impact on prices and industry.
The Daughters of the Pioneers held a Monday meeting at Mrs. O. E. Graa’s home led by District Representative Lucile Walker. A Romance of the Early Meeting House building lesson was given. poems and solos were performed. social hour honored Mrs. Rose B. Hayes, longtime captain and Utah County advisory board member.
Sunday afternoon the Alhambra Theatre was relieved of 23 dollars 86 cents between matinee closing and evening reopening. Night Watchman Gardiner and Marshall A R Winters investigated the case with no clues found.

Alexander Beverage, 42, died at L D hospital in Salt Lake City Wednesday morning after a three month stomach illness. Born February 5, 1891 in Castle Gate Utah, he lived in Lehi and Pleasant Grove. Survived by widow Mary Walker Beverage and six children Merrill Ellen Beth Lamar Bernice Darrell, plus brothers and sisters Mary Ann Butts George Robert William Newburn Beverage of Lehi.
Clarence A York 57 dairyman of Orem Utah died at his home Tuesday after a three week illness. Born November 13 1875 in Mona Utah he was son of Asa B and Emma B York. He married Ester Downs in 1888 and survived by four sons and daughters, Mrs Harold Johnson Clarence and Elmer York of Orem, Mrs Edna Miner of Provo twelve grandchildren a brother and three sisters Mrs Mary Halliday Salt Lake City Mrs Ida Pierson Mrs Sadie Tiffney and Lyman York of Provo. Funeral held Thursday at 2 p m in Windsor ward chapel with Bishop Stanley B Harris presiding.
Senior class hosts Friday Senior Hop at the High School Gym with Armistice Day themed decor. An afternoon program includes talks, readings, songs, and pantomimes by seniors and the National Guard unit, plus bugle calls and a closing Star Spangled Banner.
Pleasant Grove High School forms a Home Economics club directed by the Home Economics teacher. Charter members Mildred Fowlke Domma Gillman Evalyn Bezzant Evalyn Jacobs Elizabeth Blackhurst Hazel Carlson and Naomi Driggs. Invitations go to girls with B average. The charter members hosted forty prospective members at a luncheon with fall flowers and progressive games.
The city has funded road repairs and pipe upgrades in the past two weeks. Graveling on the W M Howe property to J J Freeman, street scraping and leveling, and about 450 dollars in repairs. Under waterworks chief Nelle Nelson a four inch water main from Earl Foutz to Eliza Banks and from Atwood to Chastina Walker replaces a smaller line as part of a citywide improvement benefiting taxpayers and residents.
County Engineer Hugo Price and officials surveyed two routes for a new wood road. The Grove Creek canyon path was chosen as the best route to aid cattle grazing and salt haulage, with forest service supplying powder and tools. Work starts this week under city supervision with local labor.
